Beer terms
A few menu words that make ordering easier.
- ABV
- Alcohol by volume. A percentage showing the share of alcohol in the beer.
- IBU
- International bitterness units. A measurement associated with hop bitterness; perceived bitterness also depends on the rest of the beer.
- Draft
- Beer served from a keg through a tap.
- Flight
- Several smaller pours served together for comparison.
- Session beer
- Often used for a beer with lower alcohol strength that suits a longer visit; check the actual ABV.
- Seasonal
- A beer released for part of the year or for a limited run.
